Potentiometer becomes smaller, simpler and more accurate. Its development tends to be miniaturized, high efficiency, high quality and low loss. With the wide application range of modern electronic equipment, the service conditions are becoming more and more mature. Then, how to correctly select potentiometers under different conditions? The specific contents are as follows:
Condition 1: power type wire wound potentiometer is selected for high-power circuit;
Condition 2. The tone control of the sound system can choose a direct sliding potentiometer;
Condition 3. Fine tuning potentiometer shall be selected for reference voltage regulation of power supply circuit;
Condition 4. The potentiometers used in communication equipment and computers can be patch type multi turn potentiometers or single turn potentiometers;
Condition 5. Small carbon film potentiometer with rotary switch can be selected for volume adjustment and power switch of semiconductor radio;
Condition 6. High precision wire wound potentiometer, precision multi turn potentiometer or metal glass glaze potentiometer shall be selected in circuits such as precision instruments;
Condition 7. When selecting the potentiometer, the resistor material, structure, type, specification and adjustment mode of the potentiometer shall be selected according to the specific requirements of the application circuit;
Condition 8. The potentiometer for tone control in audio equipment shall be reverse logarithmic (formerly known as exponential) potentiometer, and the potentiometer for volume control can be logarithmic potentiometer;
Condition 9. After selecting the type and specification of potentiometer according to the requirements of equipment and circuit, the electrical parameters of potentiometer shall be reasonably selected according to the requirements of circuit, including rated power, nominal resistance, allowable deviation, resolution, maximum working voltage, dynamic noise, etc.
To sum up, it is very necessary to select different potentiometers under different conditions.
